FIPS-M REGISTRATION OF COMPETITION WORLD RECORD FISH
Since May 25th 2001, a register is being kept of FIPS-M record fish caught at competitions within the international federation.
To register a fish the following must be complied with:
- Registered fish, as detailed on the FIPS/M application form, must have been caught according to the rules and under control of FIPS/M. The fish must be caught during an international FIPS/M championship, or at a competition of a member nation.
- Fish registered must meet the FIPS/M minimum competition record weight, or exceed the current registered record, to qualify for inclusion in the concerned list. The minimum weights for acceptable species, according to the fishing type, are detailed in the corresponding FIPS/M list for competition records.
- All registered fish must appear in the competition results of the FIPS/M organizer, and must be weighed with calibrated scale.
- This application must be fully, and clearly completed. The form must be signed, by three stated persons and must be received by the designated member of the FIPS/m board within 6 weeks of capture.
- A photo of the fish must be attached to the application form sufficient to enable identification of the species.
- A registration fee of 20.- € must be transferred to the FIPS/M bank account within 6 weeks of capture to cover registration costs, record badge plus postage. The bank payment must make reference to "record claim". (Payment application) On ratification of the record the diploma and the badge will be send to the concerned angler.
FIPS/M KEEPS THE FOLLOWING 4 COMPETITION RECORD LISTS:
List "A"; Big Game Light Tackle. (Lines under 10 kg IGFA class.)
List "B"; Big Game Heavy Tackle. (Lines over 10 kg IGFA class.)
List "C"; Boat Angling
List "D"; Shore Angling
At present will be four overall lists, with no differentiation between Senior, Women and Youth Angler.
FIPS-M REGISTRATION OF LONG CASTING OF SEA WEIGHTS COMPETITION WORLD RECORDS
To register a Long Casting Record the following must be complied with:
- Long Casting pass over, according to the rules and under control of FIPS/M, during an international FIPS/M championship, or at a competition of a member nation.
- The registered distance must exceed the current registered record distance, to qualify for inclusion in the concerned list. The application form must be signed by three stated persons and must be received by the nominated member of the FIPS/M board within 6 weeks of competition.
- A registration fee of 20.- € must be transferred to the FIPS/M bank account within 6 weeks of competition to cover registration costs, record badge plus postage. The bank payment must make reference to "record claim". (Payment application) On ratification of the record, the diploma and the badge will be send to the concerned competitor.
List "E": Long Casting of Sea Weights:

Category of 175 grammes |
